File: A woman holds an Identity book.
JOHANNESBURG – The case of Joshlin Smith has shone a spotlight on the possibility that human trafficking syndicates may be alive and well in the country.
With the month of October being National Human trafficking awareness month, we look at how this pandemic is affecting communities and what the Gauteng Provincial government and civil society groups are doing to counter this organised crime.
The Joshlin Smith case has been postponed until 21 October for further investigation.
eNCA producer Lee McCabe has been speaking to survivors and activists about this issue.
